Welcome to my art gallery. My studio is in Perth, WA and my paintings reflect elements of my life here: the city, landscapes, the inspirational light, people and places. My art is non-representational, full of colour and energy, displays bold mark-making processes and composition. Unless otherwise labelled, works are for sale. In The Spirit Exhibition

My fifth solo exhibition, In the Spirit was held at the David Giles Gallery, Fremantle during Feb 9-16.

The works marked over 18 months of paintings in Carolyn's lyric, fluid style- displaying gestural marks both soft and bold. A new departure for Carolyn was to incorporate new shades of acqua, light greens, yellows and neutral colours. The resulting works evoke natural growing forms, land, water and air.

VISUAL TEMPOS - NEW WORKS

Opening Friday 1 April and running until Tuesday May 10, 2011 at the University of Western Australia Club Gallery, Hackett Drive, Crawley, entrance 1, carpark 3.

The works explore a merging of rhythmic painterly surfaces with echoes of images momentarily glimpsed. They are inspired by music, sounds, voices - the rhythms of dance and movement.

Through my paintings I seek to engage a deep sense of self and the fundamental urge of the creative spirit. I see the wellspring of my creativity as a flowing of the inner workings of my being: spiritual, kinaesthetic, intellectual, emotional, musical and linguistic transposed through deep muscle and psycholinguistic tropes of the memories and impressions of my life experiences.
